Recently, I took my guinea pig Daisy into Lititz Vet clinic to see Dr. B and she was treated for a URI. With the help of Dr. Runnels hand feeding her and giving her, her antibiotics she came through the infection and is doing great. The vets at the clinic are very kind and understanding about my fur babies. They know how much they mean to me.

I have 2 female guinea pigs. I took them for their first checkup to Dr. B. He is the best vet that I ever had for my small pets. Rosie and Daisy passed their checkup with flying colors but a few weeks later I discovered some hair loss on Daisy's back, so to the vet we went with Rosie just in case. They were both treated for mites and after that my girl was fine and her hair grew back. Then..... Daisy stopped eating, (even her veggies) I knew something was wrong, so off to see Dr B. She had the start of a URI so Dr B. was wonderful and did a Great job of making her all better. I am thankful that I have such a Super vet to take care of my fur babies. They are part of my family.

I have lived in various states, I have owned 11 guinea pigs over the span of 20 years, and I have seen a lot of vets. Dr. Chris Eugenio is by far the best exotics vet I have ever encountered in every way. I have worked in large animal medicine and management for several years so my standards are very high. Dr. Eugenio is thorough, knowledgeable, innovative, experienced, priced conservatively and he truly cares. My guinea pigs (or any other exotic pet I may end up having) will always go to him.

Before I started going to Dr. Eugenio, my 3-year-old sow fractured her calcaneus and I took her to an exotics vet at a different practice. I knew the options were going to be euthanasia or amputation, but I just wanted to be sure. The vet stated exactly what I had been dreading so I started to mull over surgery. Then a coworker suggested Dr. Eugenio for the surgery so I made an appointment with him. He said neither euthanasia or amputation was an option and wanted to try a special splint he created for cases like this. I was willing to try anything and agreed. The splint that he made was made solely out of white tape (those of you in medicine know it well) and fashioned what looked like a mini cast around her ankle. It was truly amazing. He asked that I continue radiographing it at my place of work throughout the few weeks the splint was on and return for follow ups. I did and LaFonda's calcaneus was healed in less than 2 months. And when the splint came off there wasn't a single sore. LaFonda is doing wonderfully now as if nothing happened and I have continued to see Dr. Eugenio for other guinea pig cases since then. I can't say enough great things about this doctor.

I made an appointment with Dr. Kanfer to have my guinea pig seen as she was losing weight. It was my first time there and I was a bit nervous as I didn't know what to expect, but I had faith in the multiple websites that all had stellar reviews of this place.

It was a very pleasant experience from check-in to check-out. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, the tech/assistant took a very thorough history of my piggie, and Dr. Kanfer herself was all around so nice to work with. She was gentle and did a thorough exam right in front of me, talking me through what she was doing. As for my concern of the weight loss, Dr. Kanfer said that my pig was "a touch plump" and that it's ok for her to lose a little bit of weight, which I thought was a hilarious and awesome way to put it. :) With some guidance from Dr. Kanfer, my piggie is doing very well.

The prices seem to be about the same as many hospitals around the general area. Of course, having exotic pets means the vet bills will be higher, so that is to be expected. Given that the quality of service and care are excellent here, I'm happy to pay "standard" prices for such great value.

She runs a local guinea pig rescue and she helps out with all types of rescues in the area. She even acts as a vet for a local wolf refuge. I highly recommend her. She charges very fair prices and gives top notch care!

This is the fourth and final vet I've gone to in Los Angeles (final because there's nobody else worth going to). They truly care about and are well-educated about small animals and you can tell from the questions they ask and how they do a full exam of your pet every time. Other vets i'd been to (despite being small animal and exotic specialists) seem so unprofessional and unsuited in comparison. Give them a chance and I promise you won't be disappointed. Both of the vets (Dr. Kanfer and Dr. Margolin) are great, but I'd recommend seeing Dr. Kanfer (she's nicer). The only reason for the rating of three on the prices is that its not stellar, they're right on par with all the other vets in the los angeles area.

My 7 year old guinea pig Herbie had a horribly impacted rectum. Found "EPC" online and went to see one of Dr. Schneiders vets at Southport Animal Hospital. They were busy but she said if I came right over she could see me. So I went right over and straight into an exam room where Angelina gave him a complete examination. She was knowledgable and very thorough. She diagnosed him right away and we discussed a couple of options. We finally went wild mild sedation and a complete cleaning. She took Herbie into the back. I waited. About 15 minutes went by and Herbie was back. A little groggy, but much lighter. Angeline then gave me a full run down of what she had done including a couple of other things that she found and treated. She was nice enough to show me some pictures (definitely not for the squeemish) because one issue Herbie had was so chronic that she had not seen it before. Lets just say if he had been circumcised or even neutered, it would not have occured. So everything had gone better than I had imagined. Herbie was happier on multiple levels. Herbie was up and eating hay by the time we got back to the car. Outstanding! Thank you so much!

Patches liked her too! She ONLY treats small animals and exotics. I wish I found her sooner; she probably could have saved poor little Dakota. That's ok, at least I know where to take Patches. She takes care not to stress the GP any more than absolutely necessary.

Hands down one of the most intelligent , kind ,and reasonably priced vets in New England. When my children's guinea pig became ill and stopped eating I brought her to our local RI vet who wasn't well versed in small rodents. She couldn't really diagnose her problem but did palpate a large tumor located in her abdomen. My children were devastated that their sweet guinea pig of 2 years, was most likely going to die.My good friend suggested I travel to get a second opinion with Dr Mertz who promptly and accurately diagnosed her with an ovarian mass. That was a Saturday ,by Sunday Charlotte had surgery and was home. Its now been 3 weeks and our pet is well on her way to a full recovery and life.As a footnote she did developed a slight infection in which Dr Mertz again came through and ordered an antibiotic for her.Within 1day she was herself ,eating , drinking and squeaking away. The total for the doctors services was approximately $195.00 a far cry from my local vet? That included her appointment, overnight boarding, surgery and initial post-op care. This was a very fair price to pay for my children's happiness and Charlottes life.In addition the office staff were very helpful and caring as well.A-1 care from start to finish.

This doctor, Dr Stuart, is by far the best veterinarian I have ever met. He speaks to you as if you are a real person. And he always answers all your questions and addresses any concerns you may have. He definitely put my pet at the top of his priority list. And always takes extra time to make sure that you understand what's going on with your pet, and know the proper care for them. I've been going to him for 9 years with all my pets...not only my guinea pig, but my 2 dogs as well. The care from Dr. Stuart and the staff is exceptional. And they are always friendly and happy to see us. With all the procedures and surgeries that he's done over the years on my pets... I couldn't hope for a better doctor to entrust my family members to. This is definitely a 5 star hospital.

While Mountain Park may still be operating, Dr. Susan Leck has moved to a location in Lilburn, GA. I do not know if there are any exotic vets (cavy savvy) at Mountain Park.

I rated everything a 3 because I don't know from experience. I only know Dr. Leck is not there anymore.

I don't know where our rescue would be without his help. He explains things well, is concerned with the piggies and looks for solutions that won't break our rescue budget. We've had many surgeries done by him and I've always been pleased with the results. We had a guinea pig with lymphoma (Big Boy). Lymphoma is almost always fatal within a few days to a few weeks. He tried a different protocol and we happily got two more quality years with our beloved Big Boy. Neither one of us would have continued if it was having a negative effect on Big Boy's quality of life.

All Pets Medical Centre: Dr. Amy Worell, DVM is completely awful. Because of Dr. Any Worell, DVM and her entire staffs negligence my dog suffered a horrible and cruel death instead of being euthanised. I brought my dog to her for her opinion if it was time to put my dog down last week, he had stopped eating his food, was throwing up everything including water. The vet on duty at the time said not to euthanise him as is their usual practice they came in with a long list of recommended tests that would have cost between $700-$1015. Considering that my dog was very old and past the life expectancy for his breed we opted not to put him through all those tests so the Dr. on duty told me to feed him what ever he will eat and call them back is he continues to vomit or gets worse. I did just that when my dog stopped eating his favorite human food and continued to vomit 3 days later, I called the Dr. the office and asked for the Dr. to call me call me back as I was instructed to do. Neither Dr. Worell nor anyone from All Pets ever called me back. I called them back again to which I was informed that Dr. Worell would not talk to me until I come in and run the test that were offered. Dr. Worell is completely money hungry and does not care about your pet at all. I made an appointment with another vet to euthanise my dog with but he suffered and died on his own the night before our appointment.

I have been taking my pets (i.e. rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, and now dog) to Dr. Lissa Kam since the mid-80's when I was in elementary school and rescued every animal that came my way. She has always done an excellent job in taking care of my pets throughout the different stages in their lives, but has a special place in her heart for guinea pigs. She is an actual guinea pig owner herself and has a lot of knowledge about their care, habits and needs. The Hawaiian Humane Society also calls upon her when they have a special guinea pig who needs to be fostered or adopted. Dr. Kam is very gentle and will take the time to answer all of your questions. She is also very reasonably priced for the excellent care she provides. Now, as an adult, I have adopted two guinea pigs from the Humane Society and I will definitely continue taking them to Dr. Kam!

Dr. Shelby Riddle: She's not bad, but I prefer her husband.

Dr. Riddle's husband Dr. Olm shares her practice and he is our primary vet. We saw her once when we couldn't get an appt with him and I was very unimpressed with her. We came in with mites, I said it was mites and we need Ivermectin, but she insisted on doing 3 different tests that all came back inconclusive. She then agreed that it is probably mites and gave us Ivermectin ($300 in tests later). But she didn't feel our pig needed it, even though I insisted it was contagious. We ended up coming back with our second pig, who of course got the mites and we ended up doing 6 weeks of treatments because it had gone too long..

Our second pig weighed 3 times as much as the first pig, so his dose should have been 3 times as much (since dosage goes by weight). When I noticed that the second pig's dosage wasn't right I took it back and Dr Riddle told me I was wrong but she would look into it. When I picked it up again later it was adjusted to what I said it should have been, with no apology for arguing with me or mis-dosing my pig for 3 weeks! Needless to say we are done with her.

Her husband is amazing though. He discusses each test he wants to do beforehand AND tells us how much it will be, which we appreciate, as we have had to opt out of really pricey tests. He doesn't make you feel bad about it either. He is also VERY knowledgeable about diet and gives you a whole hour per visit. We'll stick with him.
